Tendai Mtana has spent the last 18 years shaping and influencing change in both the private sector and the public sector. While he has a heart for governance in public service, he has found ways to express his heart for policy transformation for businesses as well as public organisations and communities.
His most recent role was that of Executive Secretary serving in the Mombasa County Government in the areas of Early Childhood Development and Environment. Here he developed ground-breaking policies to aid in the governance of the two key sectors.
In previous roles, Tendai has been involved in conflict resolution in private sector - helping to bring harmony and focus between management and support teams, he also spent time building global and regional brands, crafting and implementing a series of marketing communication strategies geared at gaining maximum impact and visibility for his clients, as well as engaged in the training of entrepreneurs to assist them in attaining their potential.
As such, he is able to dissect and interpret complexities at the individual, corporate and public sector level with a view to guiding people towards a greater level of effectiveness at what they are called to do.
He is a certified Organisation Performance Index (OPI) Assessor (Kenya Institute of Management) and is also certified by the National Union of Students (UK) in Strategic Management Tools to Support Policy Change and in Lobbying and Campaigning.
Tendai has a BA in Politics and International Relations (Hons) from the University of Reading in the UK and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate from The Kennedy School at the Harvard University.
